PTA Sponsored Before & After School Programs

GRACE Art In The Schools

The GRACE Art program, formerly known as Art in the Schools, was established in 1976 by GreaterRestonArtsCenter, to supplement and support local children's art experience in school. The program is based on in-class presentations of art historical subjects, followed by coordinating art projects.

The first session will be held after school on Friday, February 24th to introduce parents and students to this wonderful program.  Your child will be studying the Architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, in this first session. They will then participate in a project which will be a sculpture. We are hoping to reach as many volunteers as possible since parent volunteers are crucial to keeping this program running throughout the remainder of this year and coming years.

Fairview Baseball Program

It is that time again, time to have some fun getting ready for the Spring. We are working to identify a day of the week that will work out. It really comes down to volunteer availability.
Please register your child below, but also please be as accurate as you can with the time you may have available to help out. You don't need to know baseball, we just need a few folks to help keep the kids organized and safe while the coaches move from station to station.

Our program focuses on the basics of baseball. It works for kids with no experience or years of experience. Even the pros practice the basics every day. We will divide the kids into groups of similar skill and age. The program will mainly be held in the Fairview Gym, but sometimes we will go outside pending weather. We ask that your child wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes. If they have a glove and a helmet, please have them bring it. PLEASE DO NOT BRING BATS!!! We will supply bats and balls.

The program will use wiffle balls, tennis balls, baseballs and other training aids to teach your child the proper ways to play baseball in a fun collaborative environment. Most of the coaches that will assist have coached several years with Fairfax Little League or other baseball leagues. Many of these coaches are parents of children at Fairview.

We will most likely break the program into 2 or 3 sessions based on grade level alternating weeks. More information will be available once we have a better idea on how many participants we have.
