Get Involved!
With everyone's help, we can make this another GREAT year at Fairview. Your commitment is up to you. You can lead a team, participate in events, donate materials or your time for an event. There is a place for everyone in the PTA! To show your interest in a committee, add your name to the SignUp Genius and you'll learn more about what's involved.
Extracurricular Programs
Manages before and after school enrichment programming - includes external vendors and FVPTA-run activities. Coordinates with office staff for space requirements and other details.
Running Club (subcommittee of Extracurricular Programs)
Organizes and leads the Fairview Running Club, divided into boys and girls groups (Boys on the Trail and Girls Run For Fun). Seeks out coaches, works with staff sponsors to create training programs and races, and coordinates registration with the PTA.
Fundraising
Leads fundraisers of all kinds, from envelope campaigns (The UnFundraiser), AmazonSmile, earning partners, business sponsorships.
Kindergarten
Coordinates Kindergarten playdate in summer and helps admin put together materials for Kindergarten Open House in April.
Patrols
Coordinates fun events for patrols such as hot cocoa, root beer floats, end-of-year appreciation celebrations, etc.
Spirit Wear
Manages sale of Fairview/PTA branded merch. Previously has coordinated 1-2 sales per year, mixing up items regularly.
Art Assistance
Coordinates volunteer assistance for special art programs and shows.
Library Assistance
Recruits group of standing volunteers to help shelve books in library and other duties as requested by librarian.
Room Parents
Works with teacher to provide support as needed - classroom volunteers, field trip chaperones, classroom supply needs, class parties, etc. Coordinates teacher gifts (monetary or not). Communicates information from PTA to parents at a grassroots level.
Family Fun
Organizes family fun activities including social, philanthropic, educational, etc.
Nominations
Committee of 3 volunteers to solicit nominations for officers for the next school year. Committee will be voted in by membership in winter and begin their work in spring.
Grounds
Establish fall and spring clean-up days to weed, mulch, and beautify school grounds. Coordinate signup for regular "sprucing" around the exterior of the school.
Supply Kits
Works with supply kit vendor and staff to coordinate supply kit lists, promote sales, and distribute supply kits at Open House the following summer.
Staff Appreciation
Manages staff appreciation activities including monthly treats in the teachers' lounge, stocking supplies, goodies throughout the year, and Teacher Appreciation Week.
Financial audit
Three person team that performs the annual financial audit during the summer with assistance from the Treasurer.
Lost & Found
Assists Fairview staff with the lost and found at school. Posts reminders on PTA Facebook page and arranges donations of items not collected.
Book Club
New committee for 2023 Organizes reading-focused activities, including things like Book Club, Book Swaps, other reading initiatives.
Sixth Grade Committee
Organizes activities for the 6th grade including spirit events, transition "training", and end of year party.
